Memories will keep our loved ones alive forever...
I remember when I was just 13 years old, and Clay took me up on the farm to teach me how to shoot a 22 rifle. A fun day, and we hit so many cans! I remember a special day in Syracuse when Clay and I sat in the garage, eating bowl after bowl of onions and cucumbers...I think for about 3 hours non-stop. (My sister Bev was in awe that two guys could eat so much).I remember on so many occasions when Clay and Bev would be staying at my Moms house in Bath, NY. I'd drive down and be sure to bring 24 fresh Tim Horton donuts from Canada. Clay loved donuts and I can hear him say, well, maybe just one more." Then he would giggle and dive back into the donuts. Clay had many "just one more donuts"...Then there was so many plates of that "over night salad...he just loved it!
So many fond memories to fill my heart...I will remember Clay as a gentle man that openly loved his wife and family, expressing it in so many ways over the years. A model for all of us. He fought open heart surgery as only a soldier could...
I am sadden because I cannot be there with all of the family at this time, but I hope they will understand my situation. I will miss you Clay. God speed, and may you watch sports every day in heaven.
