Clay S. Harder, Jr., P. E.'s Obituary
Clay S. Harder, Jr., P. E., 86, of North Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 18, 2015. He served in Germany with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was Honorably Discharged as Corporal. Clay earned his Civil Engineering degree from Syracuse University. He was Past Commander and a member of the American Legion North Syracuse Post 1297. He was a Free Mason and member of the Steuben Lodge, #0112 in Bath, NY for over 60 years. Clay retired as Superintendent of Building and Grounds from Niagara Mohawk in 1987 after 27 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and never missed their sporting events. Clay loved traveling throughout the United States with his wife in their motorhome.
Clay is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Beverly (Hojnoski) Harder; his son, Greg (Lynn) Harder of Fabius, NY; his daughter, Karolyn (Robert) Scott of Clay; four grandchildren, Lucas, Jacob and Gregory Harder and Katie Scott; three beloved brothers-in-law, Booty, Larry and David Hojnoski and his beloved cat, “Bill”.
Calling hours for family and friends will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Monday, December 21, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Private burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery.
