Concetta M. (Guiffrida) Copani's Obituary
Concetta M. Copani, 90, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at James Square Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Auburn, NY, daughter of the late Alfio and Philomena (Minaveo) Guiffrida. Concetta was a Lunch Aide with the Syracuse City School District, retiring after over 30 years of service. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. Concetta loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bartolo Copani in 2008.
Concetta is survived by her two sons, Bartolo (Nancy) Copani of Syracuse and Bob (Jim) Copani of California; two grandchildren, Bartolo A. Copani, Jr. of Clay and Kate (Gregory Tohafjian) Copani of Liverpool; her brother, Fred (Antoinette) Guiffrida of N. Syracuse, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her family would like to extend special thanks to James Square, D-North, for all their care, compassion and dedicated work.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 am on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Concetta’s life at 9:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to James Square Health & Rehabilitation Center, 918 James St., Syracuse, NY 13203.
