Cosmo C. Lombardo's Obituary
Cosmo C. Lombardo, 91, of East Syracuse, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Iroquois Nursing Home. He was born in Syracuse, the son of the late Dominic and Catherine Lombardo. Cosmo served with the U.S. Army as an Airplane Gunner during WWII and was Honorably Discharged as Staff Sergeant. He was employed with General Electric for over 40 years. Cosmo was an avid Yankee fan and loved spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Jennie (Paratore) Lombardo in 2011; seven sisters and one brother.
Cosmo is survived by his two daughters, Mary Cay (Mark) Phelps of Liverpool and Roseanne (Jim) Hearn of Syracuse; one grandson, Daniel (Annie) Phelps of Houston, TX, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Cosmo’s life at 10:15 am in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 1:00 – 4:00 pm on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
