Delores E. (Cerza) Barbetta, 77, of Syracuse, passed away suddenly Wednesday at home. She was born in Auburn, NY, the daughter of Felix and Antoinette (Battista) Cerza. Delores was employed with the Syracuse City School District a Read Obituary
To all the Barbetta Family,
I am so sad to hear about Delores. I worked with her for several years at Grant with Special Education. She ALWAYS made me smile, boosted my spirt and shared stories about her wonderful family. She loved each of you so dearly. We would often share our Italian recipes and how much sauce and how many meatballs we were going to make! She was so proud of all her family. Delores will always be remember as a beautiful, sassy woman with quick wit and a compassionate. I always was in awe of the way she could interact with middle school students; it seemed so effortless to her.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

My deepest sympathy to all of you. Not only was Delores a good friend of my parents, I had the pleasure of working with her at Webster. She was also at Grant with my 2 kids, and she acknowledged them daily. She was kind and a wonderful woman, and will be missed.

To The Barbetta Family - How sad I was to hear of the passing of Delores. We were not good friends, but I enjoyed any time I was with her. It has been many years since I have seen her, but I can never forget that wonderful smile and great personality. She will be missed by everyone/ My prayers are with you at this sad time. I was shocked to hear of Delores' passing. I worked with her at Grant for 14 years and she was always cheerful. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. She was a wonderful woman.

I also had the pleasure of working with Delores at Grant Middle School. She brightened each day just by being there. She was always warm, affectionate, and sincere. We often had long talks about family and about the daily grind at Grant. She had the rare quality of being sincerely interested in what you had to say, and in expressing concern about any issues we were dealing with. We had a retirement breakfast for her in 2011 and she was so humble in expressing surprise that we would do so for her. I consider myself lucky to have been counted among her friends, and am so grateful for the last few times that I saw her. She is and will always be missed. Thank you for sharing her. I am so sorry to have been unable to attend calling hours and am grateful for this opportunity to share my feelings.
