Delores E. (Cerza) Barbetta's Obituary
Delores E. (Cerza) Barbetta, 77, of Syracuse, passed away suddenly Wednesday at home. She was born in Auburn, NY, the daughter of Felix and Antoinette (Battista) Cerza. Delores was employed with the Syracuse City School District and was a Hall Monitor with Grant Middle School, retiring in 2011. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend of many, and loved by all. Delores is survived her loving husband of 58 years, Joseph J. Barbetta; two children, James J. (Donna) Barbetta of Syracuse and Donna (Kevin) Salamone of Manlius; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Michael) Vespi, Ashely Barbetta, Joseph Salamone and Jeffrey Salamone; three great-grandchildren, Elena, Antonio and Nicholas; two brothers, Frank Cerza of Seneca Falls and Patrick Cerza of New York City along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:30 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:30 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. The Holy Name Society will recite it's ritual on Friday,1:30 pm at the funeral home.
