Donald D. Daily's Obituary
Donald D. Daily, 81, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2024, with his loving family by his side. Don was born in Cincinnatus, N.Y. but lived in the Syracuse area for most of his life. Don and his beloved wife, Domenica “Marge” Daily were married in June of 1963 and enjoyed 52 years together until her passing in 2015.
In addition to Marge, Don was predeceased by his parents, James and Miriam Daily and his seven siblings.
He is survived by his two daughters, Catherine (Joseph) Morabito, and Kimberly (Michael) Price; two grandsons, Michael (Jessica) Morabito, and Andrew (Emily Divine) Morabito; four granddaughters, Faith (Jason Meigs) Keville, Meagan (Sean) Cooley, Noelle (Dakota Baumgard) Price, and Michelle Pappert, as well as 3 gorgeous great grandsons, Luca, Liam, and Maverick, 2 great granddaughters, Annabelle & Zoey, and several nieces and nephews.
Don was in his 19th year as a volunteer at Upstate Hospital, Community Campus. He looked forward to Monday afternoons there with his fellow volunteers who he had grown so very close to over the years. He has donated 23 gallons and 5 pints of blood and served his church as a long-time member of the church council as well as a two-time treasurer.
Don loved to travel, visiting many wonderful places with Marge over the years. He was an avid sports fan; a long-time SU season ticket holder, enjoying countless games with friends and family, and a loyal NY football Giants fan, even when he knew he shouldn't be. Don loved a good game of Phase 10, especially when he won. Most of all, Don loved his family and when they were near. There was always laughter and sarcasm when he was around. He will be greatly missed by many. Fly high papa and give mom a hug from us all.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 am on Monday, April 8, 2024 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, and 10:00 am in St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 5108 W. Genesee St., Camillus. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
