Dorothy H. Tambasco's Obituary
Dorothy H. (Malick) Tambasco, 78, of East Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Sunday to be with the Lord. She was surrounded by her loving and devoted family and close friends. Dorothy was born February 25, 1933 in East Syracuse, to the late Peter and Helen (Harrison) Malick. She was a graduate of E.S.M. High School and attended Syracuse University with a concentration in nursing. She graduated from Bryant and Stratton College with high honors. Dorothy retired in February 2002 after 15 years of service from the CNY Syracuse Developmental Center where she worked in the business office as an Accounts Clerk. Dorothy and her husband Michael owned and operated a printing business (Adar Printers) for over twenty years. She had met her husband Michael while working at General Motors Fisher body in Syracuse. Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother, her love of her family was unsurpassed. She was a kind and generous soul who loved life and believed strongly in helping those less fortunate than her. She was a beloved "mother" to many, as well as an inspiration to all who knew her. Dorothy enjoyed traveling, the arts and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She had a deep love and commitment to her faith. She was a refined, intelligent and gracious woman whose irrepressible sense of humor was complimented by her practical wisdom. Dorothy will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Predeceased by her husband of twenty-nine years, Michael J. Tambasco, Sr. in 1992, parents, Peter and Helen Malick; brother, William Malick and nephew, Steve Frey. Survived by her three children, Michael J. Tambasco, Jr. of East Syracuse, Darius F. (Heather) Tambasco of McKinney, TX and her daughter, Belinda R. Tambasco of East Syracuse; two grandchildren, Taylor and Andrew Tambasco of McKinney TX; brother George Malick of Syracuse; sister, Ann Frey of East Syracuse along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy also leaves behind her cherished animal companion, "Mittens". Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 8:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY with Catholic services to follow at 9:00 am in St. Matthews Church, E. Syracuse. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm.
