Edward J. Stafford's Obituary
The family of Edward J. Stafford sadly announces his passing on November 4, 2016 at the age of 76. He was predeceased by his father, George Stafford, and his mother, Ruth (Easton) Stafford. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Veronica “Ronnie” (Brisson) Stafford; daughters, Linda (Kenneth) Scott and Lisa (Michael) Canale; grandchildren, Kenneth “KJ” (Erica) Scott, Jr., Kara Scott, Jacob “Jake” Canale; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Lucas Scott, his brother, John (Peggy) Stafford, along with many nieces and nephews.
Ed was employed by NYSHFA for 23 years, serving as Executive Director for the last 15 years before retiring in 2002. He loved his Adirondack home which he owned for over 30 years. He enjoyed boating and fishing with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Edward’s life at 10:00 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Hawley Ave., Syracuse. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
