F. Lockwood Morris' Obituary
F. Lockwood Morris, Ph.D., 70, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014. He was born in Washington D.C. , the son of the late Shiras and Elizabeth (Lockwood) Morris. Lockwood graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and also received his Master's and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University. He was a Professor of Computer Science with Syracuse University for 39 years. In 1980 he was on sabbatical in England. Lockwood was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed traveling.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Charles Morris. Lockwood is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Diane (Zimmerman) Morris; two sisters, Elizabeth Hampsten of Uruguay and Felicia (Ian) Gordon of Cambridge, England, along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse.
