Frank E. Fortino's Obituary
Frank E. Fortino, 69, of Cicero, passed away peacefully Sunday January 8, 2017 at Upstate University Hospital. A life resident of the Syracuse area, he was the son of Frank and Anne (Carapella) Fortino. Frank served in the US Army Reserves. He was an insurance agent for many years and then became the owner and operator of FEF Courier. Frank became very active with the Syracuse Bowling Association in 1985 as a director; he became President of the Association in 1994. In 2000, he was inducted into the Syracuse Bowling Association Hall of Fame for meritorious service. He remained a director ever since and was currently serving as 2nd Vice President. Frank was an avid New York Yankee fan but his greatest love was being with his wife, daughter, and grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his wife, Dianne (Marra) Fortino; his daughter, Michelle Fortino Calveric; three grandchildren, Joseph and Thea Calveric, and Maxim Stefanovich; three aunts; one uncle; one niece; three nephews and many cousins.
Frank’s family would like to thank Upstate ER department and MICU 6I for their care and attention. They were wonderful.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM on Thursday, January 12, 2017 in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Frank’s life at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
