Gerald F. "Jerry" Giocondo's Obituary
Gerald F. “Jerry” Giocondo, 86, of N. Syracuse, passed away on March 18, 2026 at Crouse Hospital. Jerry was born in Syracuse, son of the late Frank and Laura (Cibrowski) Giocondo. Gerald graduated from St. Vincent de Paul High School and Le Moyne College. Jerry was a U.S. Army veteran, serving with the Military Police in Germany, and a member of the VFW Mattydale Post 3146. Gerald worked in the insurance industry for over 50 years as a broker. After retirement, he worked for the City of Syracuse as the head of the voting machines and was member of the Onondaga County Board of Elections.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Josephine (Ferrara) Giocondo; his daughter, Laurie (Michael) Stala; his son, Gerald R. Giocondo; two grandchildren, Brandon Stala and Emily Giocondo; two brothers, Frank Giocondo and Robert (Bonnie) Giocondo, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Gerald’s life will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 11:00 am in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 342 Vine St., Syracuse, NY. Jerry will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
