Gigino "Gino" Ricci's Obituary
Gigino “Gino” Ricci, 87, of N. Syracuse, passed away peacefully after a short illness surrounded by his loving family on December 27, 2022. He was born in Cervinara Avellino, Italy, son of the late Francesco and Antonietta (Degregorio) Ricci and served in the Italian Navy. Gino worked as a Cobbler; he owned and operated North Syracuse Shoe Repair for many years. His passion for shoemaking led him to meeting President Clinton and presenting him with a pair of custom hand made shoes. Gino enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards at the café and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by his daughter, Maria Antonietta Ricci in 1975.
Gino is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maria Ricci; his children, Franca (Joseph) Incassati, Cosimo (Denise) Ricci, Dominic Ricci, Dorie Ricci, Lucy (Richard) Accardi and Anna (Dennis) Denoski; 15 grandchildren: 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Domenico Ricci; his sister, Delores Gallo; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 10:30 am - 12 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Gigino’s life at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. He will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
