Giulia (Borreggine) DeTommaso's Obituary
Giulia (Borreggine) DeTommaso, 86, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2023. She was born in Casamassima, Bari, Italy, daughter of the late Antonio and Angela (Verna) Borreggine. Giulia met and married her beloved husband Vincenzo in Casamassima, Italy where they both grew up and started their family. She and her husband immigrated to the U.S. in 1967 and resided in Syracuse to raise their three children. Giulia worked as a seamstress at Learbury, retiring in 2001 after many dedicated years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and baking Italian cookies. She took great pride in cooking and caring for her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren; she looked forward to her yearly visits with her husband to see their son in Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Rocchina Poli and Angelo Borreggine.
Giulia is survived by her husband of 64 years, Vincenzo DeTommaso; and is proud of her two daughters, Dolores (Ahmed) Darwish and Angela (Paul) Licari; her son, Joseph (Yusneidys Aragon) DeTommaso; six grandchildren, Ariana, Alexa, Aziza, and Joseph Darwish, Marisa and Alicia Licari; two sisters, Cecilia Caruso and Maria Capozza, along with several nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
