Griffin Adam Engle's Obituary
Griffin Adam Engle, age 7, of Cicero, passed away Friday night at home, peacefully and gently in his mother’s arms with his dad giving them a big bear hug.
He was born in Syracuse and completed kindergarten at Cicero Elementary School. Griffin had a love of all sports, especially hockey, soccer, and football. He proudly perfected the voice of “ET”. He loved the outdoors and riding four wheelers at Nana and Papa’s, as well as playing on the beach at Grandma and Grandpa’s. Loved to love and be loved by all people, friends, and family. Griffin has brought an entire community of people together and taught them how to live life to its fullest and to appreciate all of the great little things about life. He won your heart with the flash of his smile, his laugh made you laugh and when you hugged him, he resonated love!
Griffin is survived by his loving parents, Erin (Griffin) and Adam Engle; his sister and best friend, Grace Engle; his baby brother, Everett Engle; his maternal grandparents, Herb and Rita Griffin of Marcellus, NY; his paternal grandparents, Jim and Judy Engle of McMillan, MI; his great-grandma, Anna Griffin of Syracuse; his great-grandmother, Betty Engle of Houghton Lake, MI; uncles and aunts, Jim and Colleen Griffin and Matt and Callie Engle; as well as his cousins, Jack, Gavin, Sadie, and Cora Griffin and Mia and Stella Engle.
A funeral mass in celebration of Griffin’s life will held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Burial will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery. Family and friends may attend calling hours from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
