James M. Holmes' Obituary
James M. Holmes, 68, of Liverpool, passed away suddenly on Monday. Born in Augusta, GA., James was a life resident of the Syracuse area. He served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam war, receiving the Purple Heart and various other military honors. James worked as a Draftsman and Designer at Prestolite in Syracuse, Wilson Sporting Goods in Cortland and retired in 2006 from Auto Parts International. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Jim was a kind, loving and very patient man. He will be missed by so many, especially his wife, Susan, stepdaughter, Fran and granddaughter, Ava.
Surviving are his wife, Susan J. (Colucci) Caputo; 3 sons, Michael (Tracy) of Liverpool, Mark (Shannon) of Baldwinsville and Jason (Kierstin) of Ohio; 1 step-daughter, Frani Caputo; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Daniel (Kathy) Holmes of Florida, Craig (Cindy) Holmes of Florida and Douglas Holmes of Minn; 1 sister, Cyndee (Bill) Case of Central Square; brothers-in-law, Joseph (Mary) Colucci, Michael Colucci and David (Shari) Colucci; sisters-in-law, Pat Nicotra and Cathy (Terry) Bradley along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at noon in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, with burial following at the Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
