James P. McCabe's Obituary
James P. McCabe, 67, of Liverpool, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Francis House surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Newark, N.J., son of the late James V. and Rose Ellen (McGee) McCabe. Jim served in the U.S. Naval Reserves in Okinawa as a communications technician during the Vietnam War. He spent his career as a food broker. He owned and operated Bennett Sales and Marketing in Liverpool for several years before working with Advantage Sales and Marketing, retiring in 2013. Jim was blessed with many loyal friends. He looked forward to spending summers with family and friends on the St. Lawrence River where he enjoyed fishing. Most importantly, the love of his family, his children, and grandchildren meant everything to him. They were a great source of joy and pride for him.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary (Spring) McCabe; his three daughters, Jennifer (William) Hickox of Dover, DE, Maureen (Matthew) Vredenburgh of Manlius, and Courtney McCabe of Baldwinsville; five grandchildren, Jared, Riley, Jack, Cullen, and Finn; two brothers, Michael (Jane) McCabe of West Windsor, NY and Thomas (Carolyn) McCabe of Binghamton; his uncle, William McGee of Las Vegas, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret (Lee) Strauss, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Jim’s life at 12:00 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
