Jean (Colagiovanni) Durkin's Obituary
Jean (Colagiovanni) Durkin, 81, of Syracuse, passed away at home on Monday, December 16, 2019. Born in Syracuse to the late Jack & Bridget (Stinziano) Colagiovanni, Jean was a graduate of Assumption Academy and the Powelson Business Institute in Syracuse. Jean was an executive secretary to the Vice-President of Niagara Mohawk Power Company for over 40 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Durkin in 2007.
Jean is survived by her brother, Michael (Rosemarie) Colagiovanni; a niece, Meredith (Justin) Price; a nephew, Michael (Erin) Colagiovanni, Jr.; 2 great-nieces and 4 great-nephews, along with several cousins.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 12:45 P.M. – 1:45 P.M. at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse, NY, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Jean’s life at 2:00 P.M. at church. Private burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
