I worked with Jan's son, Larry (Lawrence), for many years in New York. One summer Larry, another friend and I all vacationed by driving up to Mattydale and using the family camping site as our "get-away" free of charge as we were all young and scrimping by. This was a welcome respite for relaxing and enjoying time together and long, conversation-filled meals. Jan and Bruce and all the family welcomed us easily and warmly - as they obviously did for many people over many years. I am grateful for this warm memory, and for the warm family embrace that I hope now encompasses all who gather to mourn Jan's death and celebrate her life. Family and connection are everything - thanks for sharing that with me, Jan. Blessings to all.
