Joanne Vadala's Obituary
Joanne (Rosemellia) Vadala, 85, of Baldwinsville, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Carbondale, PA, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Clara (Gretto) Rosemellia. Joanne worked at Julius Resnick Pocketbook Factory for 13 years until they closed in 1980. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Family was Joanne's main focus throughout her life, especially spending time with her beloved grandson.
She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony P. Vadala in 1998; her son, Anthony Joseph Vadala in 1947; her daughter, Patricia Ann Vadala in 1960 and seven of her siblings. Joanne is survived by her daughter, Michele (Daniel) Giarrusso of Baldwinsville; her son, Anthony M. Vadala of Fayetteville; her grandson, Nicholas A. Giarrusso of Baldwinsville; her sister, Claire (Daniel) Fofi of Wisconsin along with numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, great-grand-nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 11:30 am in St. Augustine Church, Baldwinsville. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or American Cancer Society.
