John M. Betar's Obituary
John M. Betar, 61, of North Syracuse, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019. John was a graduate of Liverpool High School and Le Moyne College. He worked as a claim adjuster in Syracuse for various insurance companies. John was an avid sports fan, he thoroughly enjoyed fantasy football, and he loved vacationing with his family. John was always the “neighborhood dad.” You could always find him challenging the kids in a friendly game of basketball or football.
John was predeceased by his loving wife of 32 years, Kathleen, in February of 2019, and his father, Victor G. Betar.
John is survived by his daughter, Courtney K. Betar; his son, Jonathan M. Betar; his mother, Janet T. Betar; his brother, James (Therese) Betar; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Per the family’s request, funeral services will be private. A Private burial will take place in Assumption Cemetery.
