John F. Campolo's Obituary
John F. Campolo, of Syracuse, passed away on Sunday at his home surrounded by his loving wife and devoted son. He was born in Baltimore, MD and resided in the Syracuse area for most of his life. John served with the US Army during WWII and the Battle of the Bulge and was a recipient of many medals. He was a communicant and former member of the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. John was a Butcher for many years at Williams Groceries. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carmella (Cimino) Campolo; his son, Benjamin A. Campolo of Syracuse and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are welcome to attend a calling hour on Wednesday from 8:45 to 9:45 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. John's family would like to express a special "Thank You" to the Syracuse Fire Department, Station #2 and the VA Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the VA Medical Center for "Wounded Veterans", 800 Irving Ave., Syracuse, NY 13210.
