Peacefully and surrounded by his family, John J. Capria of Camillus, NY, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021 at the age of 82 years. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Rosemary (Grago) Capria; children, Read Obituary

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I have many fond memories of parties and get togethers through out the decades.
I would like to go back about 57 or so years ago, when on one occasion when visiting my Grandma and Aunt Lucy, we went to visit my Aunt Louise up the street. I remember Rosemary playing a record and dancing in her living room. She taught me how to jitterbug that day. Rosemary was over the moon about this guy named John she was dating and the rest is history. John fit right into our family and everyone instantly knew why they were meant to be together. John always loved family, and friends were instantly family too. I am blessed to have had him in my family and my life. John is now reunited with his family in heaven, but will be truly missed by his family on earth.

John and Rosemary pretty much 'took me in' as one of their own during my own personal tragedy and I became their fan for life. They were one of the happiest couples I knew and what a beautiful family they have. I will miss sitting with John at the dinner table listening to his stories of his past life as a Deputy Sheriff. My heart goes out to Rosemary, Gina, Johnnie and family. Rosemary, you were so devoted to caring for him, you are an inspiration to us all.

So sorry to hear of Uncle John’s passing. I will always cherish the memories of him and pop on the department, and all the good times we all had together. My condolences to you Aunt Ro, Gina & Johnnie.

I first met John when I worked at Lincoln National Bank and they sent me to Special Deputy Sheriff School ,that was in 1967. He was very informative and showed me the ropes. He was a very nice guy. RIP My Friend.
I have known John for 60 years and so many memories are resting on my heart.I loved our discussions, arguments, and the ways he use to ignite my feminist views which he thoroughly enjoyed doing. He married my dear cousin, RoseMary Grago Capria while I was still in High School and we have had many adventurous journeys since then. He adored his family and mine as he was a God father to both of my children. The gleam in his eye when he greeted me is one of my fondest memories.
