John R. Durling's Obituary
John R. Durling, 70, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on July 16, 2019. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Clarence F. and Marjorie A. Durling, and served in the National Guard 174th Attack Wing. John was the former owner of Atlantic Seafood Co., a family owned business serving Syracuse, North Syracuse, Mattydale and Baldwinsville for over 80 years.
John is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Judith (Reagan) Durling; three daughters, Sarah Durling, Erin (Robert) Mallory and Kristin Gray, all of Syracuse; five grandchildren, Kira, Teagan, Cole, Maya and Olivia; his sister, Janet Durling (Thomas Baker) of Lafayette, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call from 1:00 – 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. A Funeral Service in celebration of John’s life will be officiated by Rev. David James at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 22, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of CNY or Francis House.
