Although God called John home, our faith teaches us that we never really lose those we love, we will be with them again in heaven. But I will still see John here on earth: every time I look into the eyes of my beautiful niece and nephew or hear the laugh of my beloved grand niece. I will hear him as I listen to John Jr. tell stories about what a great dad John was, or listen to Renee as she speaks so proudly of her daughter. It was by John's example, that his children learned to be so awesome and loving.
Although John suffered physically for the past several years, my amazing sister made certain that he felt her love every day. He knew he was loved by his children, nieces, nephews, and the rest of his family.
A few weeks ago, I was able to spend some time with John. It took about three seconds before he started to make me laugh, cracking jokes because I told him his gotee made him look dapper. It really did!
Sue, John, Renee and Julia, know that John is well on his way to his next adventure: offering a joke when you need one, guiding your hands as you make your meals, leading you down the right road, an lending an ear when you need one. He will guide you for the rest of your days, until you are together again.
