I remember having quite a few laughs with John when he and Ginny came to Italy. Walking down the road he suddenly breaks out in his Brando Godfather imitation and I had to look twice. I thought Il Padrino was next to me. My deepest sympathies go out to Ginny and John's entire family. Sincerely, John Pitonzo, one of John's many many cousins.
I remember it like it was yesturday when we would get together for our weekly card game or to watch a SU game and bitch about Jim Bohiem. The last time we spoke was when you called me when my mother died. It has been years since I saw you but the lasting memory I will have is a healthy John Vercillo laughing and bantering we did for years every Friday or for big SU games. Aunt Ginny, I'm at a loss for words...I consider it an honor to have had Uncle John in our family. He was such a wonderful father, grandfather, and husband. I know he wouldn't want us to be sad, but celebrate the wonderful life he lived and what great one it was. He always managed to walk in a room though and it would just light up, I always admired that about him. His laughter and jokes were contagious and spread like wild fire. He will truly be missed.

I consider it an honor and a privilege to have known John as a person, friend and fellow musician. Will certainly miss his sense of humor, guitar playing, singing and his love of music. We shared many a good time when we were young & foolish around the Nort Side.
He will be missed by everyone that came into contact with him I'm sure.
