John D. Vercillo's Obituary
John D. Vercillo, 68, of Cicero, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 7, 2017. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late John and Gladys (Golden) Vercillo. John was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired in 2006 from the Syracuse City School District as a Purchasing Officer after 26 years of dedicated service. John was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending time at his camp. He was also an avid SU sports fan, and enjoyed music, especially listening to Eric Clapton while playing guitar. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Ginny (Querino) Vercillo; two sons, John M. Vercillo and Paul M. Vercillo; two daughters, Rochelle (Rodney) Lawler and Lisa M. Vercillo; four grandchildren, Stacey, Bobby, Brandon, and Conner, and his sister, Lori (William) Moreth.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of John’s life at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Monday, July 10, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
