To the Daloia Family-
As a City Police Officer working the northside, Joe made my job so much easier as he was the eyes and ears of his neighborhood. He was a great partner to the SPD and he will not be forgotten. Joe may you rest in peace.

I met JOE 1 year ago i worked with him we became friends i will never for get him he was and still is a good man RIP JOE
My deepest condolences to Lorraine and the Daloia family.
Joe Daloia was a great man. He was a friend and a man I admired for many years as one of Rays Boxers. He was a pillar for our Northside gym and our Northside community. He was Christopher Columbus in the Parade for many years and always gave his all for the NAAEC/WAAEC programs. I got to spend a lot of time working with him at the Northside Facility or at fights throughout Syracuse. He would always make me smile. He made some of the best breakfast you could get on Friday mornings and loved playing with my kids. He will be remembered as a great man.
Rip friend, love Frankie

Lorraine and family, I am saddened to learn of Joe's passing. Joe was such a wonderful man, I have many fond memories of him and his advocacy for both the north side and our city. He will truly be missed. My deepest sympathies to you all.

Dear Daloia family members,
Those of us who regularly attended the Friday morning
breakfasts are saddened to learn of Joe’s passing. He was
our old neighbor, school –mate and a good friend.
How much we appreciated his desire to prepare the food and
his intent on opening every Friday regardless of any
severe weather.
We wished and prayed for his recovery and return.
Our efforts may not have been enough, but we hope it was
some of what sustained him through his final weeks.
A soft spoken, kind and gentle man, he served, his friends
and Northside domain unselfishly. He was our chief cook,
the consumate Christopher Columbus, the Northside spokesman,
and by unanimous consent….“The Mayor”.
Although we still get together at another locale, we lament those
good times at the Center, the laughs, the ribbings, the photo-shopped
caricatures, seeing old friends drop by, the luncheon reunions,
and our old standbys at the grill….Joe and Bennie.
It takes a long time to grow an old friend
The time we shared and enjoyed together
were all fun and good.
But the Golden Years we hoped to longer share,
Passed more quickly than we hoped they would.
And the legacy Joe leaves, as friend and Northside
icon too,
Will live each day our thoughts acknowledge you.
Hai fatto bene, Joe Daloia……you did good !
God love you and may you rest in His peace.

https://youtu.be/NzpiwKNecHc this song will always remind me of my father Joe Daloia.. He was and always will be a true inspiration in my life.. At this difficult time I will try to force myself to remember the good times we shared the conversations we had.. The family events.. How you were always so proud of your children and grandchildren and how you'd brag about us... It is an honor to be your daughter.. I remember joking about how our hands and feet were exactly the same size.. And even looked the same... And Dad would laugh and that's because you have the Italian blood... But I have to say I am thankful the ears didn't also come with that.. My dad fought 2 prior cancers.. A strong man with the will to live.. Between him and my mom I've inherited an incredible love for life .. And the ability to make my way through the most difficult days of my life without giving up the battle.. I will see you again I'm sure.. But until then.. Please tell my boy I miss him so much.. I love you dad.. Rest easy in paradise.. Love Valerie.
