Joseph P. Gatto, 88, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 29, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Anthony and Rose (Drosi) Gatto. Joseph served in the U.S. Army and was a Kore Read Obituary

Dear Family, Our hearts share your loss with Joe's passing!
Although, the years have gone, we were family with the Gatto and Drosi families. Our parents immigrated from the same town in Italy, Joe's father gave my ill father a blood transfusion when it was done arm to arm, and graves of Joe's Drosi grandparents lay in front of my parents.
There are loving memories of us all growing up on the West End.

Joe was the best neighbor one could ever ask for. We'd spend every Friday night on our back decks enjoying a glass of wine and an awesome friendship. That friendship continued 20+ years after I moved. What an amazing man, father and husband to Waneta.and role model for others.
My heart is heavy with this loss, but I am certain Waneta will be at the Gates of Heaven holding it open for him when he gets there.
