Joseph A. Guinta, Jr.'s Obituary
Joseph A. Guinta, Jr., 68, of Syracuse, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025. He was born in Syracuse to the late Joseph and Donna (Leamy) Guinta, Sr.
He was a lifetime volunteer member for the Lyncourt Fire Department and retired as their caretaker. Joseph loved spending time with family, playing lottery, golf, the Detroit Tigers and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a communicant and usher at St. Daniel’s Church.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Guinta; his aunt, Patricia Leamy; and his son-in-law, Matthew Caveny.
Joseph is survived by his children, Jennifer (Lewis) St. Andrew, Sr., James (Tiffany) Guinta and Danielle Caveny; his siblings, Michael Guinta, John (Bonnie) Guinta, David (Robin) Guinta and Denise (Carl) Loerzel; his grandchildren, Cecelia (Matthew) Fantacone, Anthony (Emily) St. Andrew, Lewis (Emily) St. Andrew, Jr., Savannah (Ryan) St. Andrew and Samantha and Isabelle Guinta; his great-grandchildren, Peyton and Anakin Fantacone; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Joseph’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Monday April 28, 2025, in St. Daniel’s Church, 3004 Court Street. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery and Mausoleum.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joseph's name to the Lyncourt Fire Department, 2909 Court Street, Syracuse, NY 13208.
