Joseph R. Luckette's Obituary
Joseph R. Luckette, 82, of Dewitt, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Loretto. He was born in Syracuse, son of Frank and Hedwig (Zdep) Luckette, and graduated from North High School. Joseph was employed with Case Supply and C&R Supply for over 40 combined years of dedicated service working in kitchen and bath design. He was a longtime communicant of Holy Cross Church and avid Syracuse University sports fan. Joseph especially enjoyed spending time with family, and later in life rekindled old-time friendships with his North High “cronies”.
He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Mary “Tootsie” (Mignacca) Luckette in 2006; his brother, Frank D. Luckette, and his sister, Fay Luckette.
Joseph is survived by three children, Mary Margaret (Paul) Knapp of Dewitt, Rosalie F. (Scott) Whipple of Fayetteville, and Philip J. (Rachelle) Luckette of Dewitt; seven grandchildren, Scott, Emily, Sophie, Jackie, Marella, Keely, and Cameron; two sisters, Arlene Luckette of Baldwinsville and Jeanette Luckette of Liverpool, along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Joseph’s life at 10:00 AM in Holy Cross Church, Dewitt. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
