Joseph G. Milazzo's Obituary
Joseph G. Milazzo, 72, of Syracuse, passed away suddenly on Saturday at his home. He was born in Syracuse, the son of Santo and Ida Milazzo. Joseph served with the U.S. Marines. He was a sheet metal worker with Joseph Cashier Company for 20 years and then founded his own business, CMP Sheet Metal Inc., for 20 years before retiring. Joseph was a proud and active member of the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Pompei Church and the Italian American Athletic Club. He enjoyed his daily walks, playing cards, golf and family Wildwood vacations with the Pompeian Group. Joseph also enjoyed being a spectator at his grandchildren's activities and most of all, being a devoted husband, father and "PAPA". He was predeceased by his brothers, Matthew and Stephen Milazzo and sister, Fannie Calogero. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Barbara A. (Manzi) Milazzo; three daughters, Sharon M. (Rick) Monroe, Lori M. (Christopher) Fletcher and Jodi L. (Thomas) Baker, all of Onondaga Hill; eight grandchildren, Nicole and Colin Monroe, Joseph, Timothy and Michael Fletcher, Annie, Tommy and Elizabeth Baker; a brother, Concetto Milazzo of Liverpool; two sisters, Frances (Louis) Grenga of Syracuse and Rosemary (Richard) Gallo of North Syracuse; two sisters-in-law, Freida and Gloria Milazzo and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. The Holy Name Society will recite their ritual on Monday at 3:30 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church or the American Heart Association.
