Karen (Hair) Roede's Obituary
Karen (Hair) Roede, age 51, a native of Syracuse, NY and of her adopted home state of Washington, dedicated military wife and devoted mother, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Karen was an active volunteer at the Animal Rescue League of El Paso, a volunteer and supporter of her daughter's school, and previously active in supporting the homeless in Olympia, WA.
She is preceded in death by her father, Hugh Archer Hair.
Karen is survived by her husband, Charles; daughter, Olive; mother, Renee; sister, Janice Lawler and her husband Mike; brother, Kevin and his wife Melissa; 7 nieces and 2 nephews.
There will be a Memorial Service in celebration of Karen’s life on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, remembrances at 2:30 pm at Pascale's Italian Bistro at Drumlins, 800 Nottingham Rd., Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Karen's name to the Animal Rescue League of El Paso, 7256 La Junta Dr., Canutillo, TX 79835 or to the First United Methodist Church of Olympia, 1224 Legion Way SE, Olympia, WA 98501.
