Kathryn C. Donofrio's Obituary
Kathryn C. Donofrio 97, died in Kittery, Maine on Saturday, August 10, 2013. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of Rocco and Mary (Yennock) Donofrio who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Thomasina and Virginia Donofrio and a brother, Pelligrina Donofrio who died in the Second World War. She is survived by many cousins from the Yennock and Donofrio families.
Kathryn graduated from North High School and lived most of her life in Syracuse moving to Maine about 20 years ago. For several years she worked as a buyer in the candy department of E.W. Edwards in Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo. She also ran the candy department at Dey Brothers. After a successful career in business she retired and lived in Syracuse for awhile and then moved to Maine. While at York Beach she worked for a few years at the Goldenrod. She has lived in Kittery, Maine for the last 10 years where she made many close friends who were very kind to her during her illness. She was fond of painting, and among her other charities she knitted gloves and scarves for hundreds of poor children.
A Memorial Mass for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 6:00 pm in St. Daniel's Church.
