Kathryn "Peg" Mulligan's Obituary
Kathryn (McVey) Mulligan, 94, of Phoenix, NY, passed away on Wednesday. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Bruna) McVey. Kathryn graduated from St. Joseph's College for Women receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1939. She was an avid reader of the New York Times and was well versed with politics and current events. Kathryn had a love of the theatre, locally, in NYC and also in London. She also enjoyed traveling, taking annual trips to New York City and Europe, especially London. Kathryn was very generous to charities and a huge supporter of the Phoenix Food Bank, regularly donating books and also supporting the Phoenix Library. She had a wonderful ability to communicate with all generations and was extremely family oriented leaving behind a large number of extended family and friends who will truly miss her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. William Mulligan, DDS and her three sisters, Adele, Joan and Mary; Kathryn is survived by her niece, Adrienne S. Loweth; three nephews, Peter W. Strang, David C. Strang and Walter D. Strang III along with many cousins, including Msgr. Charles Eckermann who will be officiating her memorial mass.
A Memorial Mass in celebration of Kathryn's life will be held on Monday, 10:00 am at St. Ann's Church, 104 Academy Street, Manlius, NY with a reception to follow.
