Rev. Kim A. Cornell's Obituary
Rev. Kim A. (McGinley) Cornell, 56, of Hastings, passed away on Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a long and courageous battle with ALS. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Kim was a loving mother and homemaker, raising her kids and home schooling them as well. She was a beacon of hope and inspiration for everyone who’s life she touched in some way. Even through her difficult illness she remained positive and touched many of her caregiver’s lives as well.
She was predeceased by her mother, Vivian (Echols) McGinley and her sister, Karen Hamm.
She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, David R. Cornell; two sons, Adam (Kellie) Cornell and Justin (Laura) Cornell; granddaughter, Adelaide Cornell; her father, Elmer “Mac” McGinley; her sister, Kathy McGinley; brother, Keith McGinley; nieces and nephews, Matthew and Andrea Cornell and Emily Benson.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 12 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley Road) North Syracuse, NY. Burial will follow in Hastings Cemetery.
