Larry J. Romano's Obituary
Larry J. Romano, 100, passed away on December 3, 2018. He was born in Caulonia, Italy on April 12, 1918 and came to America with his mother and sister. He joined the Army in 1941 and after the attack on Pearl Harbor, was sent to the South Pacific and served over 3 years as a Staff Sergeant and Crew Chief in the Army Air Corps. After WWII, he returned home to Syracuse and started his own contracting business. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, hunting, Frank Sinatra, NY Yankees and spending time with family.
Larry is survived by 4 children, Joseph, Lisa, Larry and Nicola Romano; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his favorite grandchild was Briella.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.
