Lena (Evangelista) Alexander's Obituary
Lena (Evangelista) Alexander, 88, of Liverpool, passed away at Iroquois Nursing Home on Sunday, January 4, 2015. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Maria (Juliano) and Nicholas Evangelista. Lena was the owner and operator of Alexander’s Law Blank Service most of her life and then owned and operated Lucy’s Gift Shop. She was an avid bowler with Salina Senior Citizens.
She was predeceased by her husband, Phillip Alexander in 1976; her sister, Antoinette Cazzolla and her brother, Anthony Vengelist.
Lena is survived by her brother, Pasquale Evangelista of Arizona; her seven nieces, Patricia (Domenic) Bove of Solvay, Maryann (Thomas) White of Boston, Peggy (Walt) Hoffman of California, Toni (Nicholas) Kleist of Phoenix, NY, Gay Evangelista of Arizona, Lorin (Bernd) Geh of Arizona and Diane Evangelista of Arizona; several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Lena’s life at 10:00 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
