Lillian "Tootsie" Nestico Slive's Obituary
Lillian “Tootsie” Nestico Slive, 94, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Syracuse to the late Dora (Yenny) and Rudolf Schneider, she spent many years working in the restaurant industry, most recently as the daytime host at Nestico’s restaurant with her son Peter, until she was 84 years old.
Along with her parents, Tootsie is predeceased by her first husband, Julie Nestico, and her second husband, Sol Slive; as well as eleven brothers and sisters.
Tootsie is survived by her children, Kitty Spinelli, Peter Nestico, and Julie McWethy; grandchildren, Samantha McWethy, Kristina Farley, Michael Spinelli, and Nicholas Spinelli; great-grandchildren, Dylana Farley, Travis Cota, Michael, Lucas, and Natalia Spinelli, along with several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Nicholas Spinelli, Shelly Nicholson, Martita Richardson for so many things including Mom, Rhonda Meneilly, Gunther & Becky Klutz, Donna Brown, Maggie Pratt, Dawn Lenhardt, Leta Angotti at Caregivers, Mr. & Mrs. Scott Owens of S&N Helpers, and the wonderful nursing staff at The Nottingham Health Care Facility.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212. A funeral Mass and burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lillian’s name may be made to the Joseph’s House for Women, 802 Court St. Syracuse, NY 13208.
