My friendship with Linda Loo goes back to our GE days. She drew me in, as she did most people, with that huge, bright head of blonde hair and her infectious smile. I knew we’d be great friends. She had a way about her to “inspire” people to do what she wanted. She’d order a group of young male engineers to join a female engineering organization because she’d win a prize for the most recruits. “Get in line, give me 3 dollars and sign here.” They all did, like they had no choice, and they loved it – and her.
She had so many friends, as you can see here today……the problem with that was, you had to stand line to get any attention from her. But when you did, she made you feel so special that you thought you were her one and only BEST FRIEND. One of her friends recently asked her, “Linda, how is it that you have so many people who consider you their best friend.” She had the gift….
Over the years, we went on vacations, played bunco, shopped, had our famous hair-do nights, raised our kids, drank a lot of coffee and pepsi (ice not to exceed the amount of pepsi), she taught me how to make sauce, verdes and beans AND she taught me to like toast.
No matter what was going on in Linda’s life (and there was always something), she always took the time to see what was going on in mine…..she really cared with a heart of gold.
There will be Linda thoughts every day for the rest of my life, all happy and full of laughter. She’d like that because in her own words, “IT’S ALL ABOUT ME.” Rest peacefully, Linda Loo.
