Louis Palomeque's Obituary
Louis E. Palomeque, 93, of North Syracuse passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the Onondaga County VA Medical Center. He was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador to the late Luis and Porfiria (Ortega) Palomeque. Louis earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Indiana Technical College and went on to serve as a corporal in the US Army, earning the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. As owner and operator of CNY Overhead Handling, Louis specialized in material handling for many area industries up until his retirement. Louis was a lifelong learner, and after retiring, he taught chemistry labs as an adjunct faculty member at Onondaga Community College. He was an avid golfer and held the rank of Nidan in Judo. Louis taught Judo to youth for many years at the Auburn YMCA. He was a member of the Ohio Masonic Lodge.
Besides his parents and siblings, he was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Elsie Rose Palomeque, in 2004, and his daughter, Elena M. Reimann, in 1990.
Louis is survived by his children, Lewis E. (Pam) Palomeque of Cleveland, NY, Denise MP (Domenico) Gigante of Viera, FL; two children from a previous marriage, Louis and Joseph Palomeque of Long Island; a son-in-law, Robert Reimann; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A private military service will be held for immediate family. He will be laid to rest with his wife, Elsie, in White Chapel Memory Gardens.
