Dear Cousins Tony, Dominick & Families,
For me (and Josie) Zia Maria was the last of all the Lo Surdo Aunts and Uncles of our parents’ generation – and we’re so grateful we got to keep her this long. I’m so glad my sons got to meet her and see her every time we went to Syracuse to visit my Mom; and they vividly recall the ‘great coffee in the tall mugs’ she always had ready for us.
While I imagine that I too, will someday love and be dedicated to my future (God-willing!) grandchildren, I can only hope to be loved and adored by them half as much as Zia Maria was loved and adored by hers!
Although we here in Omaha are saddened by her passing, we’re grateful it was peaceful and that she was surrounded by those she loved and cherished and loved and cherished her, in return.
Finally, I’ve no doubt that my parents, sister Nina and brother-in-law Joe were right there alongside Zio Salvatore to welcome her to Heaven with open arms.
My Daily prayers will continue for all of you as you traverse the long & hard road of grief.
Much Love,
Cousin Ellie Lo Surdo-Clines, Paul, Robert (Kourtney), Christopher and Paulie
