Mark was both a wonderful brother and my best friend. We had grown much closer since Elizabth, Jack and I moved back to the Syracuse area in 2008. I would frequently stop by to see Mark and Linda just for a cup of coffee and chat about how lucky we were to be brothers. Mark was both loveable and also quite a troublemaker! He had a great sense of humor, more stories than anyone could ever count... and most of them were true. As with everyone who has written here Mark was smart, caring, a great mentor to countless folks, a great Dad and Husband. He and I rarely clashed on anything but Politics. I so dearly miss him to the depths of my soul.... Mark, as with most things decided to pass to the Lord in his own way... he was at peace with himself and surrounded by his family and grandchildren. On May 26th, the night before he passed i said "He, Jake... I have to go...and he opened his eyes and said ever so softly..."DID THE YANKEES WIN LAST NIGHT?" I said yes.. and he said GOOD! Those words and the last kiss I gave him on his cheek are wonderful memories of a brother who lived a beautiful life. It is a bit ironic that Mark's anniversary this year is on Memorial Day 2014... ironic yes, but how appropriate. In loving memory, J. David Quilter
