In most Italian Families there is at least One Aunt who takes on the role of Chief Baker, Historian, Most Supportive when Mom and Dad say NO, Most likely to NEVER forget a Birthday or Anniversary....I could go on and on....To the Cogliandro, Mirizio, Oliva, and Gannon Families....AUNT MIMI was CLEARLY....THAT AUNT !!!
Not only did she take GREAT Pride in her own family's accomplishments BUT she kept ALL the friends of her nieces and nephews in her mind and heart, too !
The world is hard pressed to find many AUNT MIMI types anymore...sad but true.
As Aunt Mimi returns Home to the Lord we should all rest assured that she is baking up a storm for her family and friends that have gone before her. How happy they must have been on Friday to see her warm and loving smile once again ! While there is sadness here on Earth, the rejoicing in Heaven must be beyond our imaginations.
God Bless all of you who loved and cherished your Sister and Aunt Mimi...
With Sympathy in you loss,
Jean (Conte) Mallaro
