Mary Cogliandro's Obituary
Mary Cogliandro "Aunt Mimi", 87, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Friday at her home. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Dominick and Santa Cogliandro. Mary retired as a supervisor from Syracuse China after more than 30 years of service. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church and belonged to the St. Jude and Holy Trinity Senior Groups. Mary was, in her younger days, an avid traveler and throughout her life loved to bake cookies for many friends and family weddings and celebrations. She was predeceased by her sister, Grace Oliva, two brothers, Frank Cogliandro and Vincent Cogliandro, two brothers-in-law, Joseph Mirizio and Stephen Oliva and sister-in-law, Susan Cogliandro. Mary is survived by her two sisters, Angela Mirizio and Santina (Joseph) Gannon and sisters-in-law, Mary Anne Cogliandro and Josephine Oliva. She is also survived by 8 nephews, 14 nieces, 20 great-nephews, 25 great-nieces and 2 great-great nieces. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one's favorite charity.
