Honey, I am so glad that you do not have to live through this pandemic. With your diminished immune system due to past transplants, you would’ve been susceptible to this horrific disease. God took you away from the decay and rust that we mortals will always endure. I miss you more than ever and will be seeing you soon.

Maryann, it's been a year now and I miss you dearly. I keep thinking you will walk through that door. I measure the time since we last spoke against all other times. I feel your presence when doing little chores that you used to do. I wonder why I don't hear your voice. I try not to change things here so you don't feel out of place when you return but then I realize you won't be coming back. But I will see you again, I just know it.
