Merino C. Merola, Jr., of Syracuse passed away on Christmas morning at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a graduate of Vocational High School and was an outstanding fullback, member of the City County Championship T Read Obituary
Todd, Sharon & Gary, The memories I have from my childhood will always be filled with love and joy, thanks in part to Mr. Merola and his loving family. The success of my life and my brothers and sister was not only shaped by our parents, but our childhood friends and their parents. Mr. Merola was a great role model for the kids growing up on Hampton road. I have far too many found memories to repeat here, but one that always stands out was during the great blizzard of Syracuse in which Mr. Merola walked to his office in East Syracuse, and came back with a bulldozer and plowed our street and driveways. That is the kind of father, and neighbor he was. He may be gone but he will always live in our hearts and souls forever.

The world was definitely a better place with Mr. Merola in it. He is,was, a man who lead by example. A man who believed honest hard work and dediciation to family were the cornerstones to a good life.A man who made others around him better people.Some people look to hollywood or to pro atheltes for their heroes....I never had to look further than Hampton Rd...Thank you to the Merola family for sharing this great man with so many of us...."A man who lives in the hearts of others never dies "...Merino C.
