It is with my deepest sympathy that I leave this condolence message regarding my Godfather Michael Visco. I just want everyone to know what a great Godfather he had been to me over the years and what a great friend he was to my father Ronald T. Pace.
When I was younger, my father Ronald Pace and my mother Geraldine Pace would bring my sister Nicole and I to the Visco family house out in the woods. We would play with his children Michael, Rosalee, and Tony. Sometimes we would swing on the vines out behind the house, or walk down to the fish hatchery. I also remember listening to the Eagles play on the late Mike Jr’s. turntable and the whole group of us watching the movie the Warriors. The Visco house was always alive with family and friends coming and going and we always had a great time eating some of the best Italian food made with his wife Doris, and its production was a whole family affair. Today, Mike, with his love for good Italian food and culture would be called a “foodie.” I believe it was Mike’s suggestion to my father to serve a case of sparkling Italian wine at my high school graduation party, which was a great hit with everyone attended (adults only of course)!
My Godfather Mike was also one of the inspirations for my service in the Army and Army Reserve, which is now more than 25-years. From the bottom of my heart, I know that Mike’s commitment to service—as a U.S. Marine, N.Y. State Trooper, to his great family, his Catholic religion, and his friends as the reason my father asked him to be my Godfather—and I am so glad he accepted.
In remembering my Godfather Mike Visco, it is important for people to know that with his U.S. Marine Corps service he was committed to protecting our county. When he returned from service, he had that same level of commitment as a N.Y. State Trooper in making Central New York a safe place for people to live, work, and play, and raise a family. My Godfather Mike Visco will always be missed by this Soldier and our family. Rest in Peace.
Love always,
COL Noel Christian Pace, Esq.
