Michael Visco's Obituary
Michael Visco, 79, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, November 5, 2018. He was born in Cervino, Italy, son of the late Antonio and Roselena (Iaderosa) Visco.
Michael was a U.S. Marine and spent several years in the reserves. He made a career as a NYS Trooper and after many years of dedicated service, retired as an Investigator with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Michael loved working in his wood shop, gardening and relaxing by his Koi pond. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida with family and friends. He also had a lifelong love of world history and Italian culture. You could always find him cooking Italian dishes and listening to Neapolitan operas.
He was predeceased by his son, Michael; brothers, Dr. Gaetano, Vincent and Mario; brother-in-law, Dominic Lentini and sister-in-law, Margaret Visco.
Michael is survived by his wife, Doris (Stenner) Visco; his son, Tony (Maria) Visco of Bridgeport; his daughter, Rosalee Visco of Syracuse; five grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Jonathan, Tessa and Grace; his brothers, John & Frank; his sister, Grace Lentini; sister-in-law, Noemi Visco; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Michael’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday, November 9, 2018 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
