Dear Rita, Rosie, Linda, Steve, Mark, Grandchildren, great grandchildren...My prayers are with all of you each day. Mort has touched many lives and I am honored to be one of those people Oh how he loved his desserts, memories he shared with everyone and all the laughs we shared. Will always remember how he always asked about mom in his cute voice. He will be truly missed. Gives me peace to know we all have a special guardian angel watching over us. Much love to all of you.
Rita, Rosie, Kevin, Linda, Steve, Mark and families, you are all in our thoughts. The dash from Mort's birth to his passing meant so much to all of us. Through our many conversations Mort would share his childhood memories with his brothers while he was smiling and laughing. He told us about his first date with Rita and how he fell madly in love with her and still is. Then he would turn to Rita, reach for her hand and say "I love you". The way Mort & Rita looked at each other ... well you could feel the love! He was so proud of his children ~ naming the boys after saints and naming the girls after songs he loved. Whenever we visited, Mort would give us a big hug, look us in the eyes and say "I love you". We would sit and talk, laugh, and smile. I thank Mort for telling my husband to marry me :) Through this tough time please keep in mind all those happy memories, blow a kiss towards heaven and say "I love you". Love, John & Mary
Dear Rita, Rosie, Linda, Steve, Mark and families, our hearts go out to you all, Mort was such a sweet man and Kevin and I are so grateful we had the opportunity to meet him.
The Christmas we spent together was truly memorable. We often tell the story of when we went to dinner that night at the Italian restaurant and Mort was sitting in the back of Kevin's car with Tina and he was telling all these stories and after Kevin drives past the exit on the highway he starts yelling, "you've missed the exit, it's the one you just went past", we are all laughing saying, Mort, we don't know which exit, we're from Australia and Kevin's from Canada, that's why you came with us to tell us which way to go :-) - he got all "cranky" with us saying, we're going to have to go the long way now and all we could do was laugh. Guess you had to be there but it was so funny.
